image swap card

I made this card this fall for a same image swap. How it works is that each person who signs up is sent the same basic stamped image to work with (in this case, the brown flower image stamped on white paper), then we make our cards, send it to our assigned partner, then post them online for all to see. It's really fun to see how each person will have a different creative take on the same item.
I colored in the image with colored pencils and blended them with odorless mineral spirits. I also used a bit of alcohol markers for accents and for the background (notice the brick-looking background).

I liked it so much I made this card as a bday card for my mom with the extra image that was sent. Thanks for stopping by today!

faux metal

This card was made for an image challenge- we were each sent the same image to use on a card. I was using some pattered paper that I had for the color inspiration. I'm a little unsure about the bright colors on this one as it's moving into fall season, but it is cheerful nontheless. And of course, the embossed foil doesn't photograph too well. If you've got any tips on capturing metals on film let me know! 5x7 size.
Techniques:
coloring on image- Magic colored pencil and alcohol markers
diamond glaze for shiny finish on the lolipop
embossed tin foil colored with sharpie pens for the background
butterfly- prima flower with a petal removed

star happy birthday

This is a design I keep coming back to again and again. Perfect for anybody- young/old, male/female. I just change out the patterned paper for whatever I have on hand. Just the card I need to keep in my stash!

Techniques- star cut with Sizzix die, painted, and glittered

Pop up card

I love how this turned out! It's my first ever pop up card and I'm sure not the last. Colored with alcohol markers and decorated with glitter. FUN!

It's a little "pasture" birthday

Another belated card. This one went to my Dad. What can I say, it was a busy summer!
Colored with alcohol markers and colored pencils with the magic colored pencil blending technique. After I did all that coloring I realized I should have let the kids color it for Grandpa. Maybe next time!

make a wish

I'm just using my new corner flower stamp! Isn't it cute? This design, would translate well with different colors and change out the wording for a variety of occasions. (idea from online source- I think from the Hero Arts blog but I don't remember) It's hard to see in the photo but the circular edge is distressed giving the card some texture. My favorite part is the rhinestones and shiny ribbon for some added bling :)

Tell me I didn't miss your birthday!

I joined a swap where we were each to use the image sent. It's really neat to see how different card artists incorporate the image into their cards. This is my contribution. You can see the others at Cococats Cardmaking.
I sent one of these cards to my stepmom for her bday. Yes, I was late!
